Happy New Year Everyone!
It's Helen here welcoming you to our first challenge of 2019, and the beginning of our tenth (!!!) trip through the alphabet! We hope that you will join us this year in our bid to be prepared for next Christmas! Perhaps you were lucky enough to receive some new Christmas craft bits in your stocking...or snapped up some bargains in the post-Christmas sales...perhaps one of your New Year's resolutions is to have your Christmas cards ready in plenty of time this year...or maybe you just haven't tidied away your Christmas stash away after making last year's cards yet! Whatever the reason, we'd love to have you play along with us all year - we have two (or sometimes three) fun themes each month, with plenty of projects from our design team to help inspire you!
Before I get on to this month's themes...don't forget to check the post below to see if you were a lucky winner of our last challenge!
I also have a few bits of admin before we get started:
This year we are going sponsor free...don't worry, there will still be the incentive of a little prize (or two) each month, but they have been donated by our lovely design team members.
We also want to make a small adjustment/clarification to the rules for entries. Whilst, as our name suggests, we are predominantly a Christmas challenge, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to cards made for other December/Winter Holidays (for example Hanukkah, Yule etc). There may still be some of our themes that are specifically 'Christmas', but many would work for other Winter Holidays and Festivals too, so as long as your project fits the theme, we are happy for you to enter our challenges.
We have noticed an increasing number of entries posted on Instagram...we're very happy to have you on board & you'll find some of our DT members there too...please use the hashtag #abcchristmaschallenge on your posts.
Finally, it gives me great pleasure to welcome our lovely new Design Team members: Julie, Lynda, Lyndsey & Wei! I'm sure that their fabulous samples will inspire you to Christmas craft all year round!
Okay, here we go!
We have two themes for you this month:
'A is for Anything Christmas Goes'
&
'B is for Berries'
There are a couple of prizes on offer (comprising a 6x6 paper pad & a co-ordinating stamp set) for two lucky winners:
And now it's time for some inspiration from our Design Team:

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year
Happy New Year, thanks for the challenge and beautiful DT inspiration! I just wanted tell y'all that I love that you are sponsor-free now. After almost a year of playing these challenge blogs, I have had so much trouble getting my win prizes at other blogs - none of them are worth having to nag to get them, so WHY BOTHER. Good for y'all, let's just play to have fun! <3 xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI don't have a google+ account, thought I would leave my link here. https://casscreatingnow.blogspot.com/2019/01/chnc-christmas-419-5-jan-2019.html
ReplyDeleteCass - I've added your entry to the linky for you.
DeleteI think you should be able to do it without a Google + account, you can log in either with Facebook, or simply use your email address.
Thank you for the challenge. Lovely work by the design team.
ReplyDeleteHi, my email is not with google and I prefer not to use social media to add my cards. Sorry...guess I'm just not familiar with this 'new' process. My cards are here: http://justmeclm.blogspot.com/2019/01/merry-and-bright-hollyhappy-little.html

Carol, I have added both of your entries to the linky.
DeleteI was sure that the email didn't need to be a google one - I log in with a Hotmail, so apologies if you are not able to use the new style linky tool.

very nice dt projects!
ReplyDeleteThanks for another fun challenge. I had a little bit of trouble trying to link up but finally figured it out!
ReplyDeleteThank you for having a challenge like this! I needed the motivation to work on these cards all year long! What a blessing you all are!
ReplyDeleteNew style linky confused me a bit! Hope I have managed it!
ReplyDeleteHi Viv,
DeleteThe new style linky is confusing us all to be honest, but the old one is being phased out, so we'll have no choice soon :0(
You managed it ok - I can see your link!

I just entered another card and wanted to say thank you for allowing winter holiday cards that aren't specifically Christmas. I make a lot of cards for nursing home residents and hospitalized children and sometimes the card drives ask that the cards not mention Christmas so as not to offend anyone's religious beliefs. I also have some family members who do not celebrate Christmas so many of my cards are geared more for winter holiday than Christmas for these reasons. Much appreciated!
